Resume writing is essential to applying for jobs, apprenticeship programs, internships, and college. Below is a step-by-step process on how to write a resume.
- Header: Name, Address, Phone, Email
- Objective: 'Summary' of what you're looking for (job, internship)
- Core Competencies
- Education, Accomplishments, and Technical

- Work and Volunteer Experience
- Write your first and last name
- Permanent mailing address (parent/guardian)
- Cell phone number
- Email (professional) - Examples include gmail.com, outlook.com
- YOUR personal weebly portfolio website
These are only examples. Add your own. How would
you describe yourself? What do you have knowledge of? What are you good at?
- List your high school and anticipated graduation month and year
- List your high school accomplishments
- List the program that you’re currently signed up for at Eaton RESA
- Add any skills that you've learned from your career program
- Add your past and current employment
- Add any volunteer experience (organizations, nonprofits, church/temple)
- List ‘key achievements’ for each work/volunteer experience. What things did you accomplish while working on the job? What were you good at?
